Ecotourists, Visitors to the Oregon Caves, Family Reunions, Groups and
Clubs. As we have folks contacting us in January to for weekend stays in August,
we ask that you please call to arrange your stay in advance... reservations,
particularly for groups, are
recommended! Even in Fall and Winter months, you'll often find our cabins are
booked through the season.
This is a special place; a riparian woodland in a unique microclimate within the Siskiyou region on
the boundary of the Klamath region. Perfect for Botanists, Mycologists,
Ecologists, Herbalists, Geologists, Bird Watchers, Etymologists, Writers, wandering minstrels and
solitude-loving
romantics. Many a person stopped here for a night with another destination in
mind and decided this was the most beautiful place they'd ever seen. They
changed their plans and moved to the Illinois Valley.

Expect lots of well-maintained walking
trails, easy hiking and fast access to more challenging treks in and around the
Oregon Caves National Monument, easy access to hiking trails in the Red Buttes
Wilderness and Bigelow Lakes region, Page Mountain Sno Park or to the Kerby end
of the Kalmiopsis Wilderness, which remains a unique area to explore, to study
unique forms of plant life, fire ecology
and recovery and is also a mecca for mushroom cultivation and harvesting!
*We do charge a five dollar per single night pet fee. No exceptions.
We adjust the pet fee for individuals and groups who'll be staying with us
longer.
And we do ask that pets, even those out on the campground, be kept on a leash.
REMEMBER: We're a secure place, a home away from home, an oasis for the
adventurous or weary traveler.
